Esta antigua posada data del siglo XVI y está situada en el corazón de la histórica y pintoresca localidad de Lewes. El White Hart Hotel ofrece instalaciones modernas pero conservando el encanto de lo antiguo.

El hotel rezuma historia y es conocido por ser el lugar en el que se empezó a gestar la independencia americana, ya que Thomas Paine ideó sus políticas radicales en el club de debate de la antigua posada. Su panfleto "El sentido común", del que se vendieron medio millón de copias en 1776, inspiró la Declaración de Independencia, firmada ese mismo año.

Los paneles de madera, las vigas de roble y las chimeneas crean un ambiente acogedor. El White Hart Hotel ha sido ampliado para albergar un club de ocio, un restaurante y salones para huéspedes y lugareños.
